DECLUTTER YOUR LIFE Ever considered how much time DECLUTTER YOUR LIFE Ever considered how much time you spend in your days cleaning up and clearing thing or looking for things. Have you given thought to minimising what you have, so that what you have is what you need & you don’t have to waste energy tidying things you don’t even want anymore. We moved to tiny living nearly 12 months ago. Although this is temporary, our end home will not be a huge space either. We have used this as an opportunity to look a little closer at what we own, what we use, and what just takes up space. For me, the hoarder in the family, it’s been a huge step. I’ve held on to “stuff” just because I was of the mindset that I paid money to buy it, however, I had never given thought to the space it was taking up and the cost of this space. While my stuff was in one space, something else that I liked or enjoyed couldn’t be there. There is also the time it takes to keep a space clean when there is a lot of stuff. Think of the kitchen bench as an example. It’s easy to clean a bench that is free of things, however, as it starts to double up as a dumping ground for the mail, the school notes, the keys, the handbag, a drink bottle and a lunch bag, then there are many obstacles to clean around, collect dust and start to make things feel messy. We will start to share some of the things we have done in our downsizing process. Please share with anyone who you know is having the same problem. DO YOU STRUGGLE WITH SELF CARE - I DO!!! Are you DO YOU STRUGGLE WITH SELF CARE - I DO!!! Are you guilty of putting yourself last. I Am!!! But I’m trying to make it my new focus. As a mum of 4, I have formed the bad habit over the years of putting everyone’s needs before my own and not taking time out for myself. Now I’m not talking a trip to get a massage or pedi, although I won’t say no if it’s on offer. But I’m talking about so me time doing something that makes my mind, my heart and my body feel good. For me this is a walk in the fresh air, close to nature, with a podcast or book to listen to, or just listening to the sounds around me. Sometimes with the dog who just loves my conversation 😂 I spend most of my days at a desk, so I enjoy getting moving I am challenging myself to do something self care everyday!! I can’t look after others if I don’t look after myself.
